You Dropped My Vision Plan! Why Would I Keep Coming To You?

No More Vision Insurance

We are now open-access providers for most vision insurances. Why visit us if we don’t take your insurance?

  1. Since we don’t participate in any insurance plans directly, we can play by our own rules and treat a patient how they should be treated. If you want your annual exam and you have a red eye or something else going we can often address it on the same visit. You now don't have to break it into several visits. We can just do what's best for you.
  2. We book exams in 45-minute time slots which means you get more time with the doctor and you have time to let us know everything that needs to be addressed and how it's affecting your day-to-day life. This provides us time to go over each issue and offer you a customized solution.
  3. After the exam, we will do all the work of submitting your claim to your insurance company if we are able and they will reimburse you for services at their out-of-network rate. After submitting we will send you an email confirmation that it has been submitted. We will always file for maximum reimbursement, if you don't want it filed, please let us know. Please visit our Insurance and Billing page for more info.
  4. Our comprehensive eye exam includes: the eye exam, a refraction (this is where you get a prescription), Optomap (this checks the retina), a dry eye screening, a tune-up on your old glasses, and a free sit-down consultation for new glasses all for the bundled price of $249. With the purchase of a pair of glasses, you do get $50 off the eye exam. Additional fees in the range of $90-$250 apply for soft contact lens exams.
  5. We are one of the few private offices left in Austin that hasn’t sold to Private Equity. We aren’t dictated by any corporate entity to carry certain frame lines or try to push certain contact lens brands. We are truly independent!
  6. Dr. Elizondo is the sole owner of the practice. This means that she calls all the shots. Here a few tidbits about how she prefers to operate her practice: It is very important to her that you have very little wait time for your appointment, and that you can get in for an appt within 1 week (we make sure to leave at least 1 same day appointment as well), and that you always feel you have access to communication with the office via email/phone/text.
  7. Our 2 primary opticians have years of combined experience and we train to give a better experience weekly and iron out any kinks encountered. We are always open to feedback and believe in constant and neverending improvement.
  8. Dr. Elizondo will take into account your typical day-to-day activities to decide what makes sense for you. She very much enjoys the social aspect of optometry. People are like snowflakes, everyone is different and that is what makes every patient encounter interesting for her. She also loves formulating an exceptional eyeglass or contact lens Rx that hopefully eliminates any pain points in your day. There is a true art to “which is clearer 1 or 2?” and she has great love and respect for this art.
  9. We hope to continue serving you through the years!

Please contact us if you have any further questions or would like to make an appointment.
